Biography

 

 

Laura Ross lives in Lyme, Connecticut not far from the
U.S. Naval Submarine Base in Groton, CT. After graduating
from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, she began employment at General Dynamics, Electric Boat,
in Groton, CT in the Design Department working the SSBN 726 Class new construction program. After leaving Electric Boat, she has worked for various U.S. Navy engineering contractors within the submarine field producing technical illustrations, drawings
and graphics of submarine subsystems and components for all classes of submarines.

She enjoys the sheer exhilaration of painting such magnificent and powerful subjects. Her artwork is displayed in various contracting offices throughout the submarine community.
